New Event – Product Authentication & Security Summit (PASS)
Reconnaissance International is launching a new conference - the Product Authentication & Security Summit (PASS), which will be held in New Brunswick, New Jersey from September 14-15, 2010.
This is a successor to the Authentication Connections Forum (ACF) series of conferences, and will cover strategies and solutions for illicit diversion, warranty fraud, cargo theft, and counterfeiting.
According to Randall Burgess, Reconnaissance new VP Americas, who will be leading the programme design, this new event has grown out of concerns that production authentication should not be seen in isolation. IP rights holders - as in brand owners, copyright holders, licensors and other manufacturers - view authentication and their anticounterfeiting strategies within the broader area of product protection, which involves fighting diversion, shipping theft, tampering and pilferage, as well as IP infringements.
'Job responsibilities often cover several or all of these issues, so combating one type of threat is not normally sufficient ot provide adequate protection,' he said. 'Hence the need for an event of this type that takes a holistic approach to the whole issue'.
A call for papers and further details will be announced shortly.
